Job summary

DOCS Health is seeking an Optometric Technician to support military service members by performing exams and treatments. The role primarily involves weekend work with occasional weekdays in Arkansas and is on an as-needed basis.

You will work directly with patients, operate optical equipment, and interface with patient care software, while assisting with frame selection and maintaining records. This position requires 1+ year of experience and familiarity with OCTs, visual fields, and photography.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography
• Experience with computers, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs

Responsibilities

• Help the optometrist with procedures and patient care
• Take patient histories and maintain the patient records system
• Assist patients to select a suitable frame for their glasses
• Demonstrate care and maintenance of lenses to patients
• Repair minor issues with broken or damaged eyeglasses
• Keep the office organized and presentable, and make the exam room ready
• Test visual acuity, depth perception, pressure and pupil reflexes

Job description

Attention all Optometry Technicians we are calling on you to work with us providing dental exams and treatment to our Military Service members.

We will primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays in the State of AR on an "as needed basis".

This position will work directly with the patient, operate optical machinery, and interface with patient care software.

Working as an optometric technician can include the following duties:

• Helping the optometrist with procedures and patient care
• Taking patient histories and maintaining the patient records system
• Assisting patients to select a suitable frame for their glasses
• Demonstrating care and maintenance of lenses to patients
• Repairing minor issues with broken and damaged eyeglasses
• Keeping the office organized and presentable, and making the exam room ready
• Testing visual acuity, depth perception, pressure and pupil reflexes

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician
• Experience performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography is required
• Experience with computers, including knowledge of and experience with word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs
• Must have own transportation for site traveling
