The role involves auditing charts, handling requests, and coordinating with physicians and staff to ensure records are complete and available for scheduling and review.

Qualifications

• 1 year of work experience in Health Information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and retrieve patient files on request or for scheduled appointments.
• Reconcile discharged records and follow up on missing documentation.
• Prepare, scan, verify, and index patient records within 24 to 48 hours of discharge.
• Ensure physicians sign, date, and complete records before finalization.
• Arrange records from the facility for storage and indexing; log and store properly.
• Scan and photocopy records and handle fax communications.
• Conduct periodic medical record audits and chart reviews.
• Answer telephone calls and respond to questions about patient records.
