Job summary

Summit Health Management in Clifton, NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Service Representative for Rheumatology. You will support physicians and PAs with clerical duties, manage patient flow, and help schedule tests and admissions.

The role requires high school diploma, medical assistant certification, heart saver, and English communication, plus 2–4 years of experience. You will document in EHR and PMS, obtain vital signs, coordinate testing, and assist with transitions of care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Medical Assistant Certification required.
• Heart saver certification required.
• 2–4 years experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform diverse work assignments with time limitations with a high degree of accuracy.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician/PA/NP with clerical duties, patient flow and procedures.
• Schedule and enter diagnostic tests and procedures in orders management system.
• Coordinate required testing prior to admission and ensure consents on site.
• Enter orders and schedule appointments in PMS and EHR.
• Obtain vital signs and document in EHR.
• Review and update medication lists and allergies in EHR.
• Provide referrals and consult orders in PMS and EHR.
• Adhere to universal safety precautions when administering medications.
• Facilitate transition of care to UCC/Hospital.
