Software Placement Group, SPG in Rutland, Vermont, seeks a board-certified or board-eligible Rheumatologist for an established outpatient specialty clinic with inpatient consultation support. Join a collaborative team in a scenic community known for high quality of life and four-season recreation.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program and an accredited Rheumatology fellowship program.
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Vermont (or immediate eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date).
  • Board certification or active board eligibility in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
  • Active, unrestricted DEA registration.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with complex rheumatic, autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders in accordance with evidence-based standards of care.
  • Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform detailed physical examinations, and assess disease activity, functional status, and long-term treatment response.
  • Order, interpret, and integrate specialized laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, bone health assessments, and other clinical data to guide decision-making.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans featuring pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, lifestyle counseling, and sub-specialty referrals.
  • Prescribe and manage advanced therapeutic regimens including DMARDs, biological agents, corticosteroids, and immunomodulatory therapies while monitoring efficacy and safety.
  • Perform routine office-based procedures such as joint injections, aspirations, and other rheumatology-specific interventions as indicated.
  • Educate patients and families regarding chronic diagnoses, treatment alternatives, risks/benefits, and self-management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate, timely EMR documentation in compliance with organizational, payer, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, specialty physicians, nursing staff, and rehabilitation professionals for coordinated interdisciplinary care.
  • Participate in clinical protocol development, provider meetings, peer reviews, utilization management, and departmental call coverage or initiatives as assigned.

Overview

A prominent regional healthcare network is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Rheumatologist to join an established clinical team within its specialty services division. What you'll do
