Job summary

Lentech, Inc. is seeking a senior System Administrator to maintain RedHat Linux VMs in AWS, apply patches, and support cloud infrastructure for federal and commercial customers. The role requires active TS.SCI clearance and extensive Linux experience.

You will collaborate with developers and DevOps, deploy monitoring tools, handle backups, and assist with escalated tickets while installing and cabling equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Active and current TS.SCI w FSP through MD.
• Linux command line system administration (CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent).
• Experience applying system updates via yum or equivalent patching repository.
• Experience with cloud environments (Amazon AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
• Experience or knowledge of RedSeal Network Mapping tool is a plus.
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Nifi is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage regular backups and test restore procedures.
• Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to provide system support.
• Apply patches and upgrades to systems.
• Troubleshoot server issues and resolve incidents.
• Manage customer accounts and deployment environments.
• Deploy monitoring tools and deploy applications and tools.
• Assist with escalated customer tickets.
• Install and cabling of equipment.

Description

• Creates, and maintains RedHat Linux virtual machines running in a cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS).
• Evaluates systems for IAVA compliance and applies necessary security updates/patches.
• Performs command line system administration tasks on virtual machines.
• Handles regular system backups and periodically tests backups for functionality.
• Communicates with developers and dev ops team members to provide system administration support.
• Apply patches and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot server issues.
• Administer customer accounts
• Deploy monitoring tools.
• Deploy applications and tools.
• Assist with escalated customer tickets.
• Installation and cabling of equipment

Required

• Active and current TS.SCI w FSP through MD
• Linux command line system administration (CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent)
• Experience applying system updates via yum or equivalent patching repository
• Experience working within a cloud environment a plus (Amazon AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud infrastructure with virtual machines)
• Experience or knowledge of RedSeal Network Mapping tool a plus
• Knowledge of software deployed on systems a plus but not required (Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Nifi)

Education

• Ten (10) years of experience as an SA
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
