Job summary

Amcor Flexibles, LLC is seeking an experienced RHB Technician to operate and support the RHB production line, ensuring adherence to process guidelines and quality standards.

You will troubleshoot equipment, coordinate with shift teammates, maintain GMP, complete paperwork, and follow safety procedures on a 12-hour rotating schedule.

This role requires mechanical aptitude, forklift certification, and the ability to lift 30 pounds; a strong commitment to safety and efficiency is essential.

Qualifications

  • Ability to verify finished product quality against control plan and react to issues.
  • Understand safety procedures and LOTO for all equipment.
  • Demonstrates Daily PM compliance with required paperwork.
  • Knowledge of loading hopper/orientor/infeed rails to oven transitions and mold transfer.
  • Ability to monitor transfer points and bottle extrusion steps.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Title

RHB Technician

Department

RHB

Position Summary

Responsible for RHB machine processing and daily machine production requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for RHB machine processing systems within appropriate process guidelines;
  • Responsible for working with the shift to maximize production requirements and to provide general direction to packer and/or utility employees on the shift.
  • Insures that the quality of all products produced meet the customer's specifications;
  • Reviews daily production performance to insure that the department is meeting efficiency goals;
  • Serves as an example for housekeeping and safety standards;
  • Responsible for troubleshooting all process related issues, mold set‑ups and other technical duties for the RHB equipment.
  • Works with maintenance staff to provide equipment maintenance for mechanical issues to insure that they are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Complete all required process‑related paperwork.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Food Safety Program (GMP)
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
  • Can verify quality of finished product (measure/visual to control plan) and properly react to problem.
  • Understands and demonstrates proper safety procedures and is familiar with LOTO procedures for all of the equipment involved. Able to locate and understand all machine safeties.
  • Demonstrates proper Daily PM compliance with all paperwork completed
  • Demonstrates knowledge of performs as a part of the process by loading them into the hopper, monitoring them in orientor and infeed rails, how they load into the oven; and understand and monitor how they transfer to molds and the closing/locking and compensation cycles.
  • Have the ability to monitor all transfer points (spindle loading/unloading, preform transfer from oven to mold).
  • Understand the monitor timing and the importance of stretching, pre‑blow air and blow air and the impact on material distribution in the bottle.
  • Understand and monitor the unlocking, opening and bottle transfer extraction of a bottle from the mold.
  • Understand and monitor the transfer of a bottle to the bottle outfeed.
  • Ability to use all screens on PCC/Man Machine interface to understand the process
  • Understanding of the oven setup and oven reheat curve
  • Basic theory and bottle fault recognition
  • Can setup and adjust all track work.
  • Ability to set‑up and adjust all downstream equipment (boxmakers, antistat booths, robots, laning, etc.)
  • 3 or more years experience in RHB processing or other plastic processing.
PPE Required

Requirements are proper hearing protection, safety glasses (prescription if required), steel‑toed shoes, hairnet, beardnet (if employee has chin hair greater than 1/8 inch).

Authorities
  • Perform essential functions and assigned duties while communicating any deviations from the requirements to management
  • Report any safety concerns to management and to shut down any equipment that presents a safety hazard
  • Make any necessary adjustments to produce a quality product and to stop production if there is a threat of nonconforming product being produced
Qualification Requirements
  • Manual Dexterity – The ability to quickly move hand, hand together with arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Mechanical aptitude –Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting and basic mechanical repairs.
  • Forklift certification – The ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner consistent with OSHA standards
  • Information Ordering – The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
  • Near Vision – The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Extent Flexibility – The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Wrist‑Finger Speed – The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Multilimbed Coordination – The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
  • Lifting Requirements – Ability to lift 30 pounds over head to total height of six feet
  • Walking/Standing – Requirements ability to walk and or stand for 12 hours per day.
Position Hours
  • Assigned 12‑hour schedule
  • Schedule rotates as follows: two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off, etc.
  • Flexibility for occasional overtime and call‑in work required
Organization Relationships
  • Report directly to Shift Supervisor for purposes of scheduling, performance evaluation, and compensation assessment
  • Indirectly reports to Department Manager for product requirements, quality requirements, and overall departmental goals.
  • Indirectly reports to Lead RHB Process Technician for direction of day‑to‑day responsibilities
