Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking an experienced RFIC Design Engineer in San Diego, CA to architect, simulate, and optimize transceiver front-ends from data converters to LNAs and PAs. You will work with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver power- and cost-efficient solutions while meeting system performance.

Responsibilities include front-end modeling, layout verification, and collaboration with packaging, HW, EE, and FW teams to ensure robust multi-channel transceiver implementations for the Kuiper program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mm-Wave/RFIC design experience.
• Knowledge of cellular (4G/5G NR), WiMAX, 802.11ad or similar broadband standards.

Responsibilities

• Define RFIC front-end models for transceivers.
• Lead area/power-efficient RFIC chip implementations with multiple transceiver chains.
• Collaborate with packaging/HW/EE/FW teams for system integration.
• Coordinate analog/digital boundary requirements for calibration and timing.
• Explore mm-wave RF architectures and present trade-offs.
• Design and simulate on-chip inductors, baluns, power combiners.
• Perform layout, extraction, and validation across process corners.
• Define bench and production test plans.
