A respected immigration law firm is currently seeking a highly skilled Associate Attorney to lead the preparation and review of legal responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and Notices of Intent to Revoke (NOIRs). The role focuses on family-based and humanitarian immigration applications and includes mentoring staff, monitoring legal trends, and advising on complex client cases. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of immigration law, outstanding writing skills, and a commitment to legal advocacy.
Prepare and review responses to RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs issued by USCIS
Analyze USCIS communications and immigration case files to determine appropriate legal strategy
Provide legal guidance to RFE team members, including attorneys and non-attorneys
Edit, revise, and finalize RFE responses drafted by other legal team members
Monitor immigration law and policy changes affecting family- and humanitarian-based petitions
Conduct training for new and current staff on USCIS trends, best practices, and legal standards
Audit legal work product for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to policy
Engage in client communications related to legal advice, case concerns, or escalations
Assist in developing internal legal processes to support efficient case handling
Minimum of 3 years of experience in family-based and humanitarian immigration law
Prior experience with applications including:
VAWA
U-Visa
T-Visa
Medical Deferred Action
I-130
Adjustment of Status
Strong familiarity with responding to RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs
Ability to manage a high volume of cases while providing supervision to others
Experience with legal team training or staff mentorship preferred
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Active license in good standing with a U.S. state bar
Excellent legal research, writing, and document review capabilities
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to lead, train, and mentor legal and support staff
Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
Advocacy-focused and client-centered mindset
Comfortable adapting to changing immigration laws and policies
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Familiarity with immigration case management systems is preferred
Remote flexibility or hybrid work environment based on location
