Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is offering a PhD Economics Intern – Reduced Form Causal Inference for Summer 2027. This full-time internship (40 hours/week) involves working with large datasets to analyze causal relationships that inform strategic business decisions and complement dissertation work.

You will apply econometric techniques, build datasets, and collaborate with economists, scientists and business leaders to present insights to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• PhD student in Economics or related field (3rd year+).
• Knowledge of data analysis languages (R/Stata/Python) or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale datasets using econometric methods to solve business questions.
• Apply regression, IVs, diff-in-diff, propensity score matching, and related techniques.
• Build and refine datasets for causal inference and policy evaluation.
• Collaborate with economists, scientists and business leaders to derive insights.
• Present findings to senior stakeholders and influence decisions.
