Amazon Economics is seeking Reduced Form Causal Analysis (RFCA) Economist Interns for Summer 2027. This full-time internship (40 hours per week) offers exposure to large-scale datasets and causal inference techniques, with compensation as hourly pay.

The role provides hands-on experience applicable to dissertation work and future careers in economics. Selected interns may be considered for all RFCA internships in 2027, collaborating with economists, scientists, and business leaders to generate

Qualifications

• 3rd year or greater PhD student in Economics or related field.
• Proficiency with econometric methods and causal inference.
• Experience with R, Stata, or Python preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale datasets using econometric techniques to infer causal effects.
• Apply regression, IV, diff-in-differences, and propensity score methods.
• Build datasets and perform data analysis at scale for insights.
• Present findings to economists and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate across teams to inform strategic decisions.
