Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems in the Seattle/Redmond area. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service and technical problem solving for complex radio systems.

The ideal candidate will typically diagnose, repair, program, and install RF equipment, interpret schematics, and travel as needed. On-the-job training is provided, with opportunities for certifications and career growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of service technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio wireless and/or communication field.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation characteristics.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Install and service wireless communications equipment (UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, DAS/BDA, microwave, CCTV).
• Recommend appropriate equipment and hardware that meets customer requirements.
• Some regional and/or overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
