Job summary

Mercury Systems in Oxnard, CA seeks a seasoned RF Test Technician III to perform functional, environmental, and operational tests on RF electronic assemblies and subassemblies for defense applications. You will tune, bias, and troubleshoot devices in bench test environments and contribute to continuous improvement within a team.

Responsibilities include testing circuits, biasing transistors, tuning amplifiers from 10MHz to 18GHz, calibrating equipment, and applying RF fundamentals.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • 3–5 years relevant experience.
  • Familiar with computers (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to clearly communicate in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Launching and testing circuits in fixtures to specifications.
  • Biasing FETs and/or transistors.
  • Proficiently testing and tuning standard catalog amplifiers from 10MHz to 18GHz.
  • Participating in continuous improvement and team building activities.
  • Applying RF fundamentals including RF Gain, Gain Flatness, Gain Matching Return Loss P1 dB Compression, phase/phase tracking.
  • Being proficient in RF theory and principals.
  • Testing for gain, gain flatness, noise figure, VSWR, P1dB, IP3, and phase.
  • Calibration of test equipment.
  • Tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Operating test equipment like DC power supplies, RF signal generators, scalar and network analyzers.
  • Understanding DC theory (Ohm's Law).
  • Following ESD procedures.

As a seasoned RF Test Technician III, you will be performing a variety of electronic testing operations, including functional, environmental, and operational tests, as well as tuning, biasing, and troubleshooting devices in a bench test environment. The bulk of these duties will be performing tests on chip and wire technology on state-of-the-art RF electronic assemblies and subassemblies for the Department of War.The devices we create are designed to save American lives on the battlefield and to give our troops a technological advantage over our advisories.Learn the skills needed to accurately and efficiently build these devices as an associate so that you can advance in your career at Mercury, while earning a competitive salary and great benefits.

Job responsibilities:
  • Launching and testing circuits in fixtures to specifications

  • Proficiently testing and tuning standard catalog amplifiers from 10MHz to 18GHz
  • Participating in continuous improvement and team building activities. Maintains productive working relationships with all team members
  • Applying RF fundamentals including but not limited to RF Gain, Gain Flatness, Gain Matching Return Loss P1 dB Compression, phase/phase tracking
  • Being proficient in RF theory and principals
  • Testing for gain, gain flatness, noise figure, VSWR, P1dB, IP3, and phase

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Familiar with computers (Microsoft Office Suite)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to obtain US DoW Secret Clearance
  • AS degree in EE, EET, or similar
  • Preferred experience in tuning RF thin film circuits

This position requires you to haveor obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position

  • $44,000.00 - $88,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
  • $49,300.00 - $98,600.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
  • $51,900.00 - $103,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ
