RF Test Technician
The RF Test Technician is responsible for building, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electronic and RF systems, assemblies, and sub-assemblies in a production environment in Fort Walton Beach, FL. This role requires hands-on expertise with digital and RF circuitry (UHF, L-Band, S-Band, and C-Band) and proficiency using advanced electronic test equipment to ensure products meet performance specifications and support production and engineering needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of test operations and troubleshoot electronic assemblies down to the component level on printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Apply strong knowledge of electronic circuit theory to diagnose and resolve failures.
- Test and troubleshoot RF circuits and components used in UHF, L-Band, S-Band, and C-Band receivers and transmitters.
- Use advanced test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power meters, and multimeters.
- Diagnose test failures and coordinate corrective actions to support on-time deliveries.
- Collaborate with the assembly team to support on-time product shipments.
- Calibrate electronic test equipment and test stations; ensure test equipment remains operational and properly calibrated.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Manage workload to meet production schedules and deadlines; provide accurate and timely production/return tracking updates.
- Maintain consistent attendance at the assigned worksite during scheduled hours (excluding approved PTO/leave).
- Collaborate with Engineering to develop test procedures and policies as needed.
- Train and mentor junior technicians; provide guidance as assigned.
- Support Engineering with test processes for products in development and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a test technician.
- Working knowledge of digital and RF electronic circuit operation and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, work instructions, and component identifications.
- Proven proficiency with advanced test equipment and safe operation practices.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work with small components with fine motor dexterity and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- 20/20 vision and color vision (corrected or uncorrected).
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, when required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information in accordance with government requirements.
- Electronic technician training, an AS degree in Electronic Technology, or equivalent experience (preferred).
Pay Rate:$20/hour BOE
Schedule:7AM-5PM 9/80 Schedule
