Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Frederick, MD invites a Summer 2027 Systems Engineering Intern to join the Airborne and Intelligence Systems group. You will support design, analysis, integration, and validation of RF systems, working with engineers and program leadership on high-performance, scalable solutions.

The role spans system architectures, electrical design, hardware testing, and mechanical concepts, offering a hands-on, multidisciplinary internship that builds practical skills and professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Engineering student; progress toward engineering degree.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to build a network.
• Must be diligent, hardworking and quick to learn.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of engineering assignments.
• Carry out basic work instructions to learn the fundamentals of the Company.
• Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers.
• Complete assigned tasks on time.
• Gather and assemble data for engineers.
• May be required to help in research in a particular field.
• Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under supervision.
• Assist engineers with appropriate design details.
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.
