Job summary

Tri Star Engineering, Inc. in Bloomington, IN, is seeking an Electrical Engineer II (Mid-level) with 2–5 years of experience to support the design, development, testing, and sustainment of advanced Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems across the full product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop test plans, create electrical schematics and BOMs, analyze results, troubleshoot hardware and software, and contribute to field support and deployment

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Foundational electrical engineering principles: circuit analysis, signal processing, power systems.
• Experience developing and executing test plans and analyzing results.
• Ability to create and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of RF system design including wireless waveforms and antenna design.
• Tactical waveform standards: SRW, WNW, ANW2, SATURN, TSM-X, MUOS.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of alternative PNT systems using RF signals of opportunity.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including environment setup and reporting.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system designs.
• Develop specifications and BOMs for electronic components; support cost analysis and vendor evaluations.
• Assist in procurement activities and manage component obsolescence.
• Provide technical support for installation, integration, troubleshooting, and field maintenance.
• Support system integration, validation, and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, program management, and manufacturing.
• Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to reliability and capability.
