Apex Systems is seeking an RF Systems Engineer in Linthicum, MD to support development, integration, and fielding of advanced RF sensor systems. The role involves collaboration across engineering teams, model development, and verification throughout the lifecycle from concept to deployment.

Qualifications include a STEM degree with experience in RF applications, MATLAB/Python/C++, and strong systems engineering fundamentals. This on-site position requires an active Secret clearance and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Physics/Math/CS or a related STEM field with 5+ years of experience, or
• Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, or
• PhD with 1+ year of experience. Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Support development and performance optimization of next-generation multifunction RF sensor systems.
• Develop parametric models, visualizations, and data-driven analyses to support requirements and use-case validation.
• Support design and implementation of RF solutions considering interfaces, real-time resource management, and hardware constraints.
• Integrate sensor modes and tracking capabilities from simulation to lab and flight test activities.
• Assist system maturation and verification in digital simulation and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Develop and write test requirements and support verification activities.
• Apply systems engineering principles to solve complex technical challenges.
• Contribute to system architecture development and concept refinement.
• Conduct technology trade studies to evaluate potential solutions.
• Derive system requirements aligned with customer objectives and programs.
• Support algorithm development and performance optimization efforts.
• Perform data analysis to evaluate system performance for engineering decisions.

Overview

Our client is seeking an RF Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, and fielding of advanced dedicated and multi-function RF sensor systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that support complex mission requirements across a variety of platforms and operational environments.

The selected candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative RF solutions, support system integration and testing efforts, and contribute throughout the system lifecycle from concept development and requirements analysis through verification and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and performance optimization of next-generation multifunction RF sensor systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another STEM field with 5+ years of experience, OR
• Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, OR
• PhD with 1+ year of experience.
• An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP).
• Experience with RF applications and RF system development.
• Experience developing and applying models using MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++.
• Experience with tracking and algorithm development.
• Experience developing and implementing innovative technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts and methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a STEM discipline.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance or higher.
• Experience supporting Special Access Programs (SAPs).
• Familiarity with one or more RF sensing modalities and their applications.
• Experience with digital signal processing (DSP).
• Experience working with advanced RF sensor systems and signal processing techniques.
