RF Systems Engineer
Location: Linthicum, MD
Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required
Schedule: Full-Time | 100% Onsite
Overview
Our client is seeking an RF Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, and fielding of advanced dedicated and multi-function RF sensor systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that support complex mission requirements across a variety of platforms and operational environments.
The selected candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative RF solutions, support system integration and testing efforts, and contribute throughout the system lifecycle from concept development and requirements analysis through verification and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and performance optimization of next-generation multifunction RF sensor systems.
- Develop parametric models, visualizations, and data-driven analyses to support sensor requirements definition and operational use case validation.
- Support the design and implementation of novel RF solutions while accounting for system interfaces, real-time resource management, and hardware constraints.
- Participate in the integration of sensor modes and tracking capabilities from simulation environments through laboratory and flight test activities.
- Support system maturation and verification efforts in digital simulation and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
- Develop and author test requirements and support system verification activities.
- Apply systems engineering principles to solve complex technical challenges.
- Participate in system architecture development and concept refinement efforts.
- Conduct technology trade studies to evaluate potential solutions and approaches.
- Develop and derive system requirements aligned with customer and program objectives.
- Support algorithm development and performance optimization initiatives.
- Perform data analysis to evaluate system performance and support engineering decisions.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, firmware, and systems engineering teams.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and technical advancement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another STEM field with 5+ years of experience, OR
- Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, OR
- PhD with 1+ year of experience.
- An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP).
- Experience with RF applications and RF system development.
- Experience developing and applying models using MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++.
- Experience with tracking and algorithm development.
- Experience developing and implementing innovative technical solutions.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts and methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a STEM discipline.
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance or higher.
- Experience supporting Special Access Programs (SAPs).
- Familiarity with one or more RF sensing modalities and their applications.
- Experience with digital signal processing (DSP).
- Experience working with advanced RF sensor systems and signal processing techniques.
