Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a Field Application Engineer (FAE) to engage with RF and Photonics customers early, assess technical needs, and propose GF solutions to drive opportunities to tapeout.

The FAE will collaborate with GF account managers and technical experts to create compelling presentations and proposals, helping customers navigate design challenges and advance to production.

Qualifications

• Education – Bachelors or Masters in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience – 10+ years in semiconductor design, tapeout and process.
• Skills – working knowledge of IC chip design flows and EDA tools.
• PM & teamwork – Technical program management, problem solving, ownership, and communication are critical.
• Travel – Up to 20%, mostly domestic with some international travel.
• English – Fluency in English (written & verbal).

Responsibilities

• Engage customers to understand their technical needs for semiconductor IC products.
• Assess the competitive landscape to advocate GF value propositions.
• Collaborate with account managers, product marketing, and technical experts to craft compelling presentations.
• Work with the account management team to merge technical and commercial terms into a design-winning proposal.
• Identify and resolve issues to convert DWIN into tapeout.
• Advocate internally for improved features and capabilities to close gaps.
