Job summary

MPG is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design electro-mechanical packaging for RF devices, using CAD to resolve packaging, thermal, and stress challenges in enclosures.

You will analyze thermal and mechanical performance, develop detailed drawings, BOMs, and collaborate with production, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver rugged RF components for airborne, maritime, and ground-mobile platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience in thermal and structural analysis, and electro-mechanical packaging.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as Inventor or AutoCAD.
• Experience with PCB layout software.
• RF microwave experience with passive and active circuitry.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD testing.
• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design high performance mechanical assemblies and support production of designs by production teams.
• Design assemblies housing circuit card assemblies and components.
• Perform thermal, mechanical stress, and vibration analyses of enclosures and PCBs.
• Conduct air flow calculations for mass and volume flow under varying conditions.
• Develop detailed drawings and BOMs; incorporate engineering changes.
• Assist root cause analysis of mechanical failures.
• Support new program proposals and customer interactions.
• Mentor and aid multiple mechanical designers.
