Job summary

The Module Design/Validation Co‑op emphasizes RF front‑end tuning, impedance matching, and RF parameter evaluation, with access to HFSS, ADS, and Allegro in a hands‑on lab setting to contribute to cutting‑edge chipsets for wireless devices.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering BS, MS, or Ph.D. program.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Irvine January - June 2027.
  • Module Design/Validation Co-op should have knowledge of semiconductors, analog circuits, RF design fundamentals.
  • Candidate should understand RF module building blocks (LNA, PA, switches, filters, inductors).
  • Must use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; good communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Tuning RF front-end modules in the lab.
  • Impedance matching using the Smith chart.
  • Evaluating RF parameters like IP3, P1dB, NF, return loss, etc.
  • Validating performance across supply, temperature, and frequency.
  • Creating 3D models in HFSS and simulating S-Parameter files in ADS.
  • Creating compliance matrices against spec, plotting results, and presenting a results summary.
