Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team supporting the design and development of RF receiver (Rx) and transmitter (Tx) systems for aerospace and sea-based platforms. This role focuses on providing mechanical engineering expertise to ensure the successful integration of systems within diverse environments, ranging from flight systems to shipboard installations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or related field.
  • Two or more years of aerospace or shipboard system integration experience.
  • Must be a US citizen with interim secret clearance to start; Secret clearance attainable.
  • Experience designing mechanical systems for dynamic aerospace and naval environments.
  • Proficiency in CAD and structural/environmental analysis tools (ANSYS, Abaqus).
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD and industry standards for aerospace/naval systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical solutions to integrate RF Rx/Tx systems into flight and shipboard environments.
  • Engineer mounting systems for sea-based platforms ensuring stability and compliance with constraints.
  • Design and analyze antenna gimballing/vectoring systems for mechanical performance.
  • Create packaging and enclosures for rugged transportation of assemblies.
  • Collaborate with RF, electrical, and systems engineers to meet requirements.
  • Contribute to trade studies evaluating mechanical options for performance and cost.
  • Participate in system testing and validation to align with program needs.
