Job summary

Jefferson Lab is seeking a highly experienced RF Group Leader to manage a team of engineers and technicians supporting CEBAF accelerator operations. You will oversee safety, training, and planning, coordinating with customers to maintain reliable RF systems and address obsolescence while advancing high power RF and LLRF controls.

The role demands strategic supervision, budget management, and proactive risk mitigation in a demanding scientific setting.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in electrical engineering systems.
• 5+ years of experience with projects exceeding $500k.
• 5+ years of supervising technical staff.
• Education above the minimum may be substituted for experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies addressing RF performance and obsolescence for CEBAF accelerator and lab initiatives.
• Lead development of RF equipment/systems to resolve obsolescence and add RF capabilities.
• Analyze RF system operation requirements and improve machine availability and reliability.
• Ensure projects involve stakeholders, are reviewed, and documented upon completion.
