Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Semiconductor/RF Module Design Co-Op in Irvine, CA for Winter/Spring 2027. You will work with engineers on RF module technologies, supporting research, prototype development, simulation, and validation for future Skyworks products.

You will be paired with a mentor and collaborate with RFIC, module, and systems engineers in a collaborative R&D environment, gaining exposure to RF front-end architectures and system integration.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with emphasis in RF/Microwave Engineering or Electromagnetics.
• Onsite availability in Irvine, CA January–June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate advanced RF front-end architectures involving filter and RFIC co-design.
• Develop and analyze RF matching networks, filter structures, and module integration concepts.
• Create 3D electromagnetic models using HFSS and perform RF simulations using ADS.
• Support prototype design, fabrication, and evaluation of RF module concepts.
• Investigate RF interactions between ICs, package structures, and passive components.
• Characterize prototype hardware and evaluate metrics such as insertion loss, rejection, linearity, noise figure, PAE.
• Correlate simulation and measurement results and recommend design improvements.
• Create technical reports and present results to the design team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore next-generation RF technologies.
