Job summary

Point2 Technology Inc. is seeking a senior EM engineer in Irvine, CA to perform full-wave simulations for RF channels, including antennas and waveguides.

You will design, optimize, and validate high-frequency components and propagation paths, and develop parametric EM models using HFSS. The role requires strong electromagnetics knowledge, hands-on high-frequency measurement correlation, and experience with microwave/millimeter-wave systems.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of industry experience or MS with 5+ years of industry experience.
• Expert-level proficiency with Ansys HFSS.
• Strong understanding of electromagnetics, wave propagation, antennas, and waveguide structures.
• Hands-on experience with simulation-to-measurement correlation at high frequencies.
• Experience with microwave and/or millimeter-wave systems.
• Familiarity with RF measurement equipment such as VNA, spectrum analyzers, and anechoic chamber testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-wave electromagnetic simulations for RF channels consisting of antennas, waveguides, transitions, and passive RF structures
• Design, optimize, and validate high-frequency RF components and propagation paths
• Develop accurate EM models and conduct parametric studies using HFSS
• Correlate simulation results with laboratory measurements including S-parameters, insertion loss, and channel performance
• Debug discrepancies between simulation and measurement and improve modeling accuracy
• Collaborate with RF, antenna, mechanical, and system engineers to support product development
