Job summary

Skyworks is seeking a Winter/Spring co-op for the Filter Design team at the Irvine site. You will help improve acoustic filter design efficiency (SAW/BAW) within RF front-end modules as part of a team of engineers.

The role focuses on data-driven analysis, tool development, and collaboration with engineering and IT groups to implement design improvements. This paid co-op runs January through June and requires on-site presence in Irvine.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a PhD or Master’s in Mechanical Eng., Electrical Eng., CS, Math, Physics, or a related field.
  • Ability to work on-site in Irvine for a 6-month period.
  • Experience with design, development, and software implementation of complex mathematical algorithms.
  • Knowledge of statistics and machine learning methods.
  • Coursework in theory and applications of circuit design/acoustic filters.
  • Strong communication skills to understand requests from the filter design team.
  • Fast learner with interest in cutting-edge technology.
  • Well organized with good attention to details.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and recommend data-driven solutions to analyze BAW resonators/filters with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Design automation to improve filter design efficiency and related data plots.
  • Collaborate with filter design and IT/modeling teams to implement requests in the design tool/utility/methodology.
