Job Title: System Engineer II/RF Field Technician
Location: Northern region (Cadillac, Traverse City, Claire, etc.) of Michigan - most of the role will involve travel
Duration: 6+ Months Contract (Possible Extension)
Department Overview
- Team of 4 Field Technicians and 4 Engineers
- Focus area: Wireless connectivity in IT space
- Handles multiple wireless solutions including radio, land, mobile, cellular modems, Starlink, dispatch for radio, cellular boosters, and satellite technologies (phones, etc.)
- Majority of work involves radio systems—installed and maintained across fleet vehicles for company operations, including microwave technologies
- Land Mobile Radio – 50%
- Cellular Modems and BDA’s – 50%
Responsibilities
Field Technician
- Work consists of land mobile radio (50%) and cellular modems & BDA's (50%)
- On-call rotation: 1 week on / 3 weeks off (eligible for OT/on-call pay)Respond to tickets when radios malfunction; troubleshoot and repair or replace devices in the field
- Install new equipment as part of lifecycle management for fleet vehicles
- Not responsible for design but supports independent or team-based installations
- Install new radios into fleet vehicles

- RF/Radio experience – ability to understand RF technology, troubleshoot issues, and apply radio system knowledge effectively
