Job summary

AFL in Charlotte, NC is seeking an RF Field Engineer to oversee wireless operator system testing, integration, and troubleshooting. You will collaborate with Sales and Engineering Management to craft commercial and public safety solutions and develop materials for customer requests.

Travel up to 90% and participation in training for OEM products to enhance RF knowledge across DAS/Small Cell technologies are expected. Position supports ongoing maintenance and monitoring of wireless systems.

Responsibilities

• Configure new and upgrade Small Cell and DAS networks.
• Provide guidance and training for Sales and Operations teams.
• Collaborate with internal managers to meet objectives.
• Support project timelines with Deployment and Construction teams.
• Assist Engineering in developing training programs.
• Train Associate Engineers on industry standards, applications, technologies and processes.
• Perform radio engineering evaluation for system planning and site acquisition.
• Use RF propagation and planning tools (IBWAVE primary).
• Conduct field testing or oversee teams as needed.
• Evaluate coverage problems and new service area requirements for cells.
• Create CW test plans and execute testing and reporting.
• Create Benchmark/Post Installation test plans and report data to identify anomalies.
• Identify causes of RF interference and troubleshoot with customers.
• Organize meetings to meet departmental objectives.
• Assist in inventory management and resource assignments.
• Weekly admin tasks and travel logistics.
