Job summary

IT&E seeks an RF Technical Specialist to provide technical engineering support for local and international RF operations and help prepare engineering requirements for RF proposals. The role involves repair, install, and maintenance of RF equipment under the RF Manager’s guidance.

You will monitor 5G, LTE, and HSPA+ networks, assist in RF engineering and optimization, and work with contractors on antenna and site upgrades. Safety and compliance are emphasized throughout the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; trade school or equivalent experience desired.
• Two years of progressive experience in RF technology or electronic technician-type work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor 5G NSA, LTE, and HSPA+ network performance by testing systems at sites and interpreting data from wireless switches.
• Assist RF engineering and optimization efforts.
• Repair, install, and maintain RF equipment.
• Inspect completed work for proper mounting, leveling, weather proofing, and safety.
• Run power, ground, fiber, or coaxial cables and test system operation with appropriate tools.
• Assist in design, optimization, and performance testing for clusters and markets.
• Collaborate with deployment teams to ensure deliverables across project stages.
• Work with contractors on antenna mounting, azimuth, tilting, and drive testing.
• Plan and perform software and hardware upgrades to wireless switches.
• Ensure vendor performance meets North American and international standards.
