Job summary

Northwood Space in Torrance, CA is seeking an enthusiastic RF Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You'll support design and optimization of ground station RF hardware, working with experienced engineers across electrical, RF, mechanical, and software domains.

This role offers hands‑on proto fabrication, testing, and real‑world impact on satellite communication systems. You will gain experience from concept through production, with exposure to transmission line theory, S-parameter analysis, and

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Basic knowledge of transmission line theory and use of the smith chart.
Experience in Python or another language for data analysis.
1+ year experience in antenna, RF, or electrical design, fabrication, and test including lab work and university projects.

Responsibilities

Support the design and development of new RF hardware, as well as improvements to existing designs for enhanced performance and reliability.
Assist in the fabrication and characterization of prototypes for antennas, feeds, and active RF circuits.
Work closely with hardware and software engineers to test and troubleshoot integrated RF performance.
Provide technical support to colleagues in regulatory and site operations.
