Job summary

Alarm.com is seeking an ambitious RF/EMC Engineer to join our lab-focused team in Tysons, VA. You will own RF performance and EMC pre-compliance testing, execute measurements across cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and sub-GHz radios, and contribute to external certifications for security devices and sensing applications.

You will document results, collaborate with hardware and software teams, and help expand our testing capabilities with AI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar technical discipline with RF/EMC background.
• 2–3 years of hands-on RF performance and/or EMC testing experience with pass/fail interpretation.
• Familiarity with cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, and sub-GHz protocols.
• Experience troubleshooting RF performance issues and EMC failures.
• Ability to read schematics and work with lab equipment.
• Experience with RF lab measurements and certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform RF performance and EMC pre-compliance testing per specs and regulatory requirements (FCC, ISED, CE/RED).
• Complete RF measurements (TRP/TIS, power, spectrum, emissions) for multi-radio hardware.
• Evaluate and optimize RF/EMC performance of in-house hardware.
• Own certification workflow: prepare samples, write test instructions, witness external labs.
• Document results and communicate findings to design teams.
• Extend testing capabilities using AI tools and software.
• Work independently with senior management alignment.
• Other duties as assigned.
