Field Theory Consulting Inc. in the Chicago area is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician II to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will support electronics projects, troubleshoot malfunctions, assemble systems and cables for antennas, and assist with EMC/EMI testing in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications

• Excellent problem-solving abilities with capability of troubleshooting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to details as well as being self-driven and exceptionally organized.
• Minimum 3-year experience with Electronics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Associate’s degree, EET / MET Certifications, or electronics training (such as provided in the military)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our engineering team for client projects
• Identifying and resolving malfunctions in electronic equipment and systems
• Assembling electronic systems and prototypes and cables for antennas
• Solder small components such as 0201 parts and BGAs
• Understanding of schematics and PCB layout
• Assisting engineering team in troubleshooting devices for EMC / EMI issues
• Creation of data reports
• Creation of test procedures
• Calibration of test equipment
• Conduct preventative maintenance services for key systems
