Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join the Silicon System team. You will work with RF and DSP engineers to optimize simulation models for silicon-based components and phased array antenna systems, directly impacting performance, accuracy, and scalability of our simulation infrastructure.

Responsibilities include optimizing MATLAB, Python, and C++ models, profiling, refactoring, developing high‑performance algorithms, and maintaining tests and CI pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering with MATLAB, Python, and C++.
• Demonstrated experience profiling and optimizing computational code for speed and memory efficiency.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and memory management.
• Familiarity with numerical methods and scientific computing.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Optimize MATLAB, Python, and C++ models for phased array systems to reduce memory footprint and runtime.
• Profile and benchmark simulation code to identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements.
• Refactor legacy MATLAB scripts into modular, maintainable codebases.
• Implement high-performance C++ algorithms for antenna and silicon modeling tasks.
• Collaborate with RF and DSP engineers to maintain simulation fidelity while optimizing.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests; contribute to CI pipelines.
• Explore techniques like parallel computing, memory management, and MEX development.
