Amphenol RF in Danbury, CT seeks a Design Engineer to join a cross-functional team designing RF coaxial connectors and cable assemblies for customer-specific applications with some mass-market work. The role requires creativity and 3D visualization skills.

You'll model components with 3D CAD software, run tolerance studies, collaborate with RF and Applications Engineering to translate requests into designs, verify performance with testing, and help ensure manufacturability across the product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 0–2 years related experience.
• Strong tooling to model and analyze mechanical components is expected.
• Experience with RF concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to senior engineers on Level 2/3 projects.
• Model and draft connector components using 3D CAD software.
• Perform tolerance studies to ensure assemblies meet design intent.
• Apply RF design concepts to develop high-performance transmission lines.
• Collaborate with RF and Applications Engineering to interpret customer requirements.
• Prepare verification test plans and document electrical/mechanical tests.
• Maintain organized project files and adhere to schedules.
• Identify potential IP opportunities and draft patent declarations when needed.
