Job summary

Peraton seeks a Mid-Level RF Compatibility Test Engineer to support NASA at Greenbelt, MD. You will operate the Compatibility Test Lab, perform RF and baseband testing, and help integrate COTS software into automated test suites.

You will review requirements, configure test setups, and summarize results, with potential travel to spacecraft manufacturing sites and tracking stations to validate links. A DOD clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Science/Math or related technical discipline; 1–3 years of related experience (or Associate with 2 years; without a degree, 6+ years).
RF systems knowledge: frequency bands, RF devices, measures, signal distortion.
Ability to independently configure and operate RF test equipment (Spec An, Sig Gen, Oscilloscope).
Experience configuring and operating baseband devices (modems, routers, switches).
Experience writing test plans, test setup, interpreting results and presenting findings.
Knowledge of coding and modulation techniques; proficiency with MS Excel/PowerPoint/Visio/Word.
Ability to obtain a DOD secret clearance; US citizen required.

Responsibilities

Perform RF compatibility testing of spacecraft to ground networks per test plans.
Review requirements, test plans and procedures.
Set up and verify equipment configurations and interfaces (LAN, data/clock, RF, fiber).
Support test team with procedures, gather and summarize results.
Travel to off-site locations to emulate links between spacecraft and ground networks.
Develop or integrate test automation to modernize lab environments.
Develop code to integrate COTS software into test automation (data collection, reporting).
