Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Mid-Level RF Compatibility Test Engineer to support our NASA customer in Greenbelt, MD. You will maintain and operate test and networking systems within a Compatibility Test Lab (CTL) at GSFC and perform RF testing to ensure spacecraft-ground link compatibility.

Responsibilities include reviewing test plans, configuring equipment, gathering results, and potentially traveling to off-site locations to emulate links.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: BS with 5+ years; MS with 3+ years; AA with 7+ years; or 9+ years without degree.
• Know RF systems: frequency bands, RF devices, measures, distortion.
• Independently configure and operate RF test equipment (Spec An, Sig Gen, Oscilloscope).
• Experience with baseband devices: modems, routers, switches.
• Experience writing test plans, setup, interpreting results, and explaining outcomes.
• Knowledge of coding and modulation techniques.
• Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word.
• DoD Secret security clearance and US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform RF compatibility testing of spacecraft-ground links per test plans.
• Review requirements, test plans, and procedures.
• Set up and verify test configurations and interfaces.
• Collect, summarize, and report test results.
• Travel to off-site sites to emulate links when required.
• Support test team with procedure knowledge and troubleshooting.
