Job summary

Voyager Lunar Systems is seeking an RF Communications Engineer to establish requirements for the RF subsystem, mature designs, test components, and ensure system compatibility across earth orbit, cislunar and lunar missions. The role is hybrid in Pittsburgh, PA, with work that spans from concept through verification.

The successful candidate has a degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering with RF focus, plus relevant experience (3 years for Bachelors or 1 year for Masters).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering with RF focus and 3 years of comms development experience, or a Master’s with 1 year.
• Experience operating RF lab equipment such as Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Network Analyzer and Oscilloscopes.
• Knowledge of transmission line theory, S parameters, Fourier transforms, link budgets, modulation, power spectral density and noise analysis.
• Knowledge of antenna theory, thermal and mass properties, and basic PCB design.

Responsibilities

• Develop RF Comms systems through design, development, simulation, testing, verification and operations.
• Apply full life-cycle systems development, including requirements development and traceability.
• Perform link budget analysis for spacecraft operating in earth orbit, cislunar, and lunar regions.
• Support design reviews such as PDR, CDR, etc.
• Participate in discussions with suppliers and vendors of RF and communication hardware.
