Job summary

Voyager Lunar Systems in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks an RF Communications Engineer to establish RF subsystem requirements, mature designs, test and analyze performance, and create link budgets for earth orbit, cislunar, and lunar missions. The role is hybrid based in Pittsburgh and reports to the Electronic Systems Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering with RF Focus and 3 years of comms experience.
• Master’s degree with 1 year of comms experience.
• Experience operating RF Lab equipment such as Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Network Analyzer and Oscilloscopes.
• Knowledge of transmission line theory, S parameters, Fourier transforms, link budgets, digital and analog modulation, power spectral density and analyzing systems with noise.

Responsibilities

• Develop RF Comms systems through design, development, simulation, testing, verification and operations
• Apply full life-cycle systems development, including requirements development and traceability
• Perform link budget analysis for spacecraft operating in earth orbit, cislunar, and lunar regions
• Support Design reviews such as Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR)
