Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the RF/Antenna Engineering group in Poway, CA. You will manage a small RF engineering team, mentor staff, and drive process development for antenna systems across multiple programs.

You will interface with program management and senior leadership, oversee design reviews, and act as SME on RF concerns, while supporting business opportunities and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in engineering or related field with 11+ years' experience.
• Strong project leadership and workload coordination skills.
• Solid understanding of engineering concepts with safety/regulatory focus.
• Deep knowledge of hardware and system-level design.
• Experience in passive microwave structures (hybrid couplers, filters, feeds).
• Experience with LNAs, power amplifiers, phase shifters, beam formers.
• PCB stack-up selection and PCB antenna fabrication knowledge.
• Proficiency with microwave analysis tools (AWR/ADS); HFSS preferred.
• Schematic capture and layout tools; PADS preferred.
• Data analysis and visualization with MATLAB or Python.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor RF engineers, driving innovative antenna solutions.
• Collaborate with program managers to support multiple active projects.
• Foster continuous improvement through training and cross‑department collaboration.
• Develop and refine processes for engineering rigor and design reviews.
• Lead evaluation of software tools and test equipment.

• Serve as SME for RF-related concerns with senior management and partners.
• Present progress, opportunities, and risk assessments to stakeholders.
