Job summary

ITERRA is building a passive RF/EO sensing platform for low-altitude airspace. You will own the end-to-end measurement chain from antenna modeling to demodulated signals, reporting to the CTO.

Responsibilities span SDR signal characterization, antenna modeling, RF front-end budgets, fabrication, and in-situ testing in Puerto Rico. Ideal candidates have hands-on EM simulation, SDR platforms, lab instrumentation, and a track record of turning models into verifiable measurements.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics; MS is a plus and counts as experience.
• Hands-on work from thesis, senior design, student project, or personal bench is valued.
• Modeling first, then measuring results; explain discrepancies.
• Experience with EM simulation tools and RF system theory is required.
• Hands-on SDR platforms (GNU Radio, UHD, Python) and real hardware experience.

Responsibilities

• SDR signal characterization: raw IQ, modulation, bandwidth, training signals.
• Antenna and array modeling: impedance, pattern, gain, polarization.
• RF front-end and link modeling: link budgets, noise figure, LNA placement.
• Fabrication and measurement: RF PCB, sheet metal, VNA/S11 measurements.
• Test bench and procedure: calibration and repeatable tests.
• Over-the-air collection and ground truth: live targets and labeling.
• Government criteria characterization: performance against published specs.
• Radome and enclosure effects: account for housing impact on measurements.
