Job summary

Mercer is seeking a Rewards Senior Associate to join the Career Consulting team in Seattle. This hybrid role requires three days in the office each week. You will design compensation programs, benchmark pay, and develop client-facing deliverables, while coaching Analysts and Associates on projects.

You will manage client projects, lead meetings, and provide technical review, with opportunities to work across multiple projects and client engagements in a dynamic consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in broad-based rewards/compensation.
• External consulting experience is required (consulting with external clients for a professional services firm).
• Knowledge of compensation principles (e.g., job benchmarking, salary structure design, job architecture).
• Strong quantitative background and data manipulation and reporting experience.
• Proven project management and creative problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project charts and templates, estimate hours, and create timelines for milestones.
• Serve as an independent project manager for projects or work streams.
• Develop compensation strategies, philosophies, and programs addressing client attraction and retention needs.
• Ensure projects stay within budget and manage out-of-scope issues and expectations.
• Prioritize activities to manage workload and meet deadlines.
• Delegate and lead project tasks in line with team capabilities and resources.
• Partner with Principals and Partners to manage proposals.
• Lead internal and client project finding, status, and check-in meetings.
• Serve as a primary client contact and build relationships with clients.
