Job summary

FirstEnergy's Pennsylvania Electric Company in Towanda, PA seeks a field Utilities Customer Service Associate responsible for delinquent balance communications, payment arrangements, and disconnect/reconnect activities. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work-related experience.
• Ability to work safely and follow safety rules.
• Knowledge of service areas and basic electricity is a plus.
• Physical fitness to lift >25 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety rules and guidelines.
• Communicates with customers about delinquent balances and payment arrangements; may disconnect/reconnect services.
• Initiates referrals to CARES for counseling and programs.
• Maintains and balances daily customer transactions and cash handling.
• Verifies data on checks and stubs; processes related forms.
• Reports safety conditions to supervision regarding meters and lines.
• Trains and instructs other employees as required.
• Performs related or less skilled work and occasional vehicle operation.
• May work across multiple districts and non-standard hours to maximize revenue.
