Job summary

The Nature Conservancy in Arlington, VA seeks a Revenue Operations Manager to lead the Cash Receipting and Pledge team. You will ensure timely, accurate processing of gifts and maintain GAAP/FASB compliance across revenue streams.

Job description

What We Can Achieve Together:

The Revenue Operations Manager is part of the Cash Receipting and Pledge Team within the Revenue Compliance department. The role is responsible for managing the Revenue Operations team within Cash Receipting and Pledge Team that enters and codes transactions related to batches of checks and ACHs received at the Arlington office. The position also performs analysis and monitoring related to revenue compliance. The Revenue Operations Manager provides oversight and management to a team that is vital to the timely and accurate processing of gifts, and ensuring revenue compliance with internal and external financial, accounting, and administrative policies and procedures.

The Revenue Operations Manager is responsible for managing the revenue operations team, within the Cash Receipting and Pledge team. The team enters and codes transactions related to checks and ACHs received at the Arlington office and performs analysis and monitoring of key revenue streams within TNC. They have strong managerial skills to supervise a team of Revenue operations staff who process a high volume of activity. The Manager works cross-functionally to ensure consistency in coding with Development Operations and the Cash Receipting Manager to ensure batches are processed accurately, timely and adhere to compliance with GAAP/FASB standards. They also are part of the Cash Receipting and Pledge Team's management group that sets strategy and tactics for the teams. They ensure review of all coding for the team and train accordingly. The Manager is responsible for reviewing and monitoring key revenue streams within TNC to ensure accuracy in recording donor intent. They work with other stakeholders to answer questions about coding and revenue compliance from customers within TNC. They create and keep current business procedures and maintain supporting documentation for later reference and audit. The Manager reports on the activities of their team for KPI and SLA purposes. The Revenue Operations Manager assists all levels of personnel in their specialty area, including but not limited to their direct team, other business units, and WO functions. They respond to complex employee/management questions and problems within the team and with stakeholders in the Conservancy and beyond based on advanced knowledge of gift coding.

This position is a hybrid position where the chosen candidate will be expected in office when necessary for meetings and to assist in general cash receipting needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
  • Manage all aspects of coding revenue deposited at the Arlington Office to ensure business processes and procedures facilitate compliance with GAAP/FASB standards.
  • Ensure daily receipts are recorded timely and accurately.
  • Perform monthly review and analysis of clearing accounts, including monitoring and resolving balances.
  • Review receipts to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering procedures.
  • Supervise a team which includes onboarding, training, and conducting ongoing performance evaluations.
  • Perform backfill functions for the Cash Receipting Manager as needed.
  • Monitor Key Performance Metrics and recommend and implement process changes to improve performance.
  • Measure individual performance metrics to identify both areas of excellence and those that need attention.
  • Reinforces consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and provides support related to relevant field.
  • Ensures programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
  • Ensures the programmatic work is collaborative and well-integrated across organization.
  • Decisions may bind organization financially and legally.
  • Implements and manages new initiatives.
  • Manages and implements multiple projects.
  • Works within a budget, negotiating and contracting with vendors.
  • Reports to leadership on activities.
