Job summary

Covenant HR LLC is seeking a Revenue, Margin & Inventory Accounting Manager to lead the Revenue Accounting, Sales Audit, and Inventory Accounting teams remotely across the USA. You will oversee complex revenue recognition, margin analysis, and inventory reporting to ensure accurate financial results.

The role requires 5–7 years of accounting progression, 3+ years in leadership, and deep ERP experience (NetSuite/Tableau/Excel).

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience with strong hands-on expertise in revenue recognition, gross margin analysis, inventory accounting, sales auditing, and complex financial reconciliations.
• 3+ years of experience managing, mentoring, and developing accounting teams, with the ability to oversee multiple accounting functions and maintain accountability.
• Strong understanding of Scan-Based Trading (SBT), Direct Store Delivery (DSD), consignment, virtual inventory, and how ownership models impact reporting; SBT or similar experience preferred.
• Strong ERP proficiency and experience with high-volume financial transactions, POS systems, inventory platforms, and integrated accounting systems (NetSuite, Tableau, Excel preferred).
• Proven ability to streamline accounting operations, strengthen internal controls, automate manual processes, and support growth; familiarity with AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Revenue Accounting, Sales Audit, and Inventory Accounting teams, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Oversee revenue recognition, gross margin accounting, inventory valuation, sales auditing, and complex reconciliations for accurate reporting.
• Manage month-end close, review journal entries, investigate variances, and ensure timely financial results.
• Review inventory reserves, sales return reserves, shrink reserves, and revenue accruals; partner with FP&A on methodologies.
• Oversee warehouse, consignment, SBT, and virtual inventory accounting activities.
• Analyze high-volume transaction flows from POS and customer systems to inventory platforms and GL; ensure data integrity.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and scalable accounting practices for growth.
• Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and enhance reporting capabilities.
• Strengthen internal controls and implement corrective actions for discrepancies.
• Work with Finance, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and external partners on complex challenges.
• Utilize ERP systems and reporting tools to improve efficiency and decision-making.
• Provide hands-on leadership balancing technical accounting with team development and strategic improvements.
