Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Revenue Cycle professional to collaborate with Patient Financial Services, Case Management, HIM, and other departments to optimize coding, billing, and reimbursement processes. The role emphasizes patient status accuracy, Medicare/commercial payer rules, and proactive prevention measures.

The position requires a coding credential and 3+ years of experience in coding and reimbursement, with preferred auditing and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Require coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum 3 years of strong training and background in coding and reimbursement.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid, Medicare OPPS, and third-party billing rules.
• Knowledge of medical necessity rules and Medicare inpatient list.

Responsibilities

• Partner with departments and physicians to improve patient status, charge capture, coding, and billing.
• Lead and participate in Revenue Cycle committees and appeals processes.
• Develop best practices for clinical documentation and revenue recognition.
• Provide excellent customer service with a high degree of autonomy.
