Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, KY is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist for the Business Office. This full‑time role supports daily billing tasks, payer communications, and claim management from Monday through Friday, 8am–4:30pm.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and strong communication, math, and computer skills to maintain patient confidentiality. You will collaborate with coders and utilization managers to resolve denials and ensure timely payments, while contributing

Qualifications

• Uses proper grammar and exhibits good communication skills.
• Computer knowledge and keyboarding experience.
• Performs basic math calculations.
• Ability to create a friendly, cooperative atmosphere for patients, visitors and staff members.

Responsabilités

• Responsible for the completion of daily tasks and paid claims.
• Contacts the payer on claims where delayed or incorrect payments are a problem.
• Assists with filing of remittances, referrals, and other forms needed within the office.
• Files secondary claims after primary payer payment has been received.
• Maintains confidentiality of all information.
• Attend meetings as needed.

• Works denial remittances until resolved
• Works daily Tasks and Account Checks
• Works aged accounts
• Mails paper claims, both UB04 and 1500’s, daily.
• Answers for workgroup phone calls
• Reports on all denials to Utilization Management
• Communicates with coders regarding denials due to coding
