Job summary

Centra Health seeks a Patient Access representative to manage patient registrations in Acute Revenue Cycle. You will be the first contact, handling pre-registration, registration, and upfront collections while ensuring accurate data and compliant service.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, collecting payments, arranging payment plans, and directing patients to financial resources. The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and teamwork within Centra’s patient access team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Proficient typing and spelling.
• Proficient computer skills, multitasking with data entry across multiple applications.
• Strong customer service, attention to detail, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for hospital services and collect demographics.
• Verify and review insurance plans and benefits.
• Manage payments at point of service and balance transactions.
• Obtain completed authorizations and notifications of admissions.
• Assist with financial clearance and referrals to financial counselors.
• Respond to phone calls, emails, and other communications.
• Promote a positive working environment and open communication.
• Comply with HIPAA, TJC, CMS, EMTALA, and Centra policies.
