Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Revenue Cycle Lead to act as a subject matter expert in billing and collections. You will support supervisors, manage workloads, train new staff, and collaborate across departments to improve revenue cycle performance.

The role requires strong knowledge of medical billing, insurer procedures, and HIPAA compliance while maintaining quality and efficiency in a team environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience performing medical billing functions.
• Experience corresponding with insurance companies in resolving patient accounts.
• Extensive knowledge of insurance carrier procedures (Medicare, Medi-Cal, etc.).
• Experience reading Explanations of Benefits (EOB) statements.

Responsibilities

• Initiates proactive measures to develop policies, policy changes and policy implementation.
• Assists supervisor in developing goals, monitoring work queues, and distributing assignments to staff.
• Helps monitor performance and identify areas in need of improvement.
• Responds timely and accurately to inquiries from payers, patients and other authorized parties.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and ensures staff handle patient information correctly.
• Assists supervisor in hiring and training new staff and developing training materials.
