Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in revenue cycle management, healthcare finance, or related field.
  • Intermediate SQL proficiency required (multi-table joins, aggregations, and performance-aware queries).
  • Experience building BI apps; Qlik experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced experience with Power Automate; SharePoint and Lists skills required.

Position Summary

The Revenue Cycle Financial & Business Intelligence Analyst is a hybrid role combining revenue cycle financial analysis, operational performance optimization, business intelligence development, and advanced workflow automation.

This position serves as the primary analytics and reporting partner to the VP of Revenue Cycle while operating within the Analytics Department. The role is responsible for analyzing revenue cycle performance, identifying financial and operational improvement opportunities, and developing reporting solutions using SQL and Qlik.

In addition, this position serves as the subject matter expert for Revenue Cycle automation and process optimization within Microsoft Power Automate, SharePoint, and Microsoft Lists, driving structured workflow improvements and reducing manual reporting processes.

1.0 FTE, Monday - Friday.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of the Revenue Cycle Financial & Business Intelligence Analyst include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze revenue cycle data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for financial and operational improvement.
  • Identify trends in revenue cycle performance and proactively address potential issues or opportunities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle performance and report findings to management.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with billing and coding regulations and guidelines.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and technologies related to revenue cycle management.
  • Work with Revenue Cycle leaders to develop and implement strategies to streamline revenue cycle processes and maximize revenue generation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of revenue cycle inefficiencies and help implement corrective actions.

Business Intelligence Development & Reporting Support

  • Write SQL queries to extract, transform, validate, and analyze revenue cycle data from the enterprise data warehouse.
  • Develop and maintain revenue cycle dashboards and reporting applications within Qlik.
  • Serve as backup and supplemental support for all revenue cycle Qlik applications and reporting assets.
  • Fulfill ad hoc reporting and analytical requests using SQL and Excel.
  • Partner with the Analytics team in maintaining revenue cycle data structures within the SQL data warehouse.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and alignment with enterprise metric definitions.

Advanced Automation & Workflow Optimization (Required Expertise)

  • Serve as the revenue cycle subject matter expert for Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Design, build, and maintain advanced automated workflows to improve reporting intake, tracking, approvals and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and manage structured reporting solutions using SharePoint and Microsoft Lists.
  • Create scalable process automation tools that reduce manual intervention and improve data transparency.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities that improve turnaround time, compliance, and reporting reliability.
  • Provide training and support to revenue cycle staff on reporting tools, automation solutions, best practices, and procedural changes.
  • Collaborate with Analytics, Finance, IT, and Revenue Cycle leadership to ensure alignment on reporting priorities and definitions.
  • Support enterprise-wide ad hoc analytics initiatives as part of the Analytics team.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in revenue cycle management, healthcare finance, or related field.
  • Intermediate SQL proficiency required (ability to write multi-table joins, aggregations, filtering logic, and performance-aware queries).
  • Demonstrated experience building applications within a BI platform; Qlik experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Power Automate required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Lists required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data sets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and structured data analysis.
  • Knowledge of healthcare billing and coding regulations preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
