Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking a Revenue Cycle Data Analyst to help develop, generate, and analyze reports to support decision making and improve Patient Accounting operations. The role interfaces with the Sr. Dir.

of Patient Accounting & Internal Audit and cross-functional teams to enhance the Revenue Cycle Dashboard and related reporting needs. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, at least three years of healthcare financial analysis, and strong Excel/Access

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years healthcare financial analytical experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Access.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and summarize data to structure reports on financial status and risks.
  • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis.
  • Conduct studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models.
  • Identify trends and advise senior management on actions based on analysis.
  • Consult with management to guide long-term strategic decision making.
  • Compile and analyze financial reports and identify discrepancies needing management attention.
  • Coordinate data collection and analysis; present findings to support Patient Accounting initiatives.
  • Develop key performance indicators and reports with Patient Accounting management.
  • Provide timely, relevant reporting of results to facilitate budgeting and strategic planning.

Description

The Revenue Cycle Data Analyst is responsible for the assistance with developing, generating, and analyzing reports to aid in decision making and to help Patient Accounting units operate effectively and efficiently. The Revenue Cycle Data Analyst will work with BCI to further develop the Revenue Cycle Dashboard and other key reporting needs.

Job Relationships

Reports to the Sr. Dir. Patient Accounting & Internal Audit. Works closely with BCI and Patient Accounting Managers.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks.
  • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis.
  • Conduct studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models.
  • Identify trends, advise company and recommend actions to senior management based on sound analysis.
  • Consult with management to guide and influence long term and strategic decision making.
  • Compile and analyze financial reports and identify discrepancies that require management attention.
  • Perform special projects to improve department efficiency and performance, and other projects as assigned by management.
  • Coordinate activities of data collection and analysis. Interpret and present findings to support and guide Patient Accounting initiatives and priorities.
  • Work with Patient Accounting management team to develop key performance indicators and reports.
  • Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of the results of the division's performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.
  • Analyze Patient Accounting-related contracts and perform cost analyses. Evaluate performance to identify opportunities for improvement with third party services such as collection agencies, document storage, claims processing, etc).
  • Assist Billing Compliance with development of automated method for performing billing-related audits/analysis.
  • Prepare financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested.
  • Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • CPA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum three years healthcare financial analytical experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel and Access) is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, managers, employees and business associates is required.
  • Confidentiality is required.
  • Must attend in-service classes or workshops relevant to job.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects is required.
