Job summary

HealthPartners, Inc. is seeking a Coding Education and Data Analyst to partner with clinicians and clinic staff to support the Revenue Cycle, capture all appropriate revenue, and close documentation gaps for coding teams.

The role requires deep knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 CM, EHRs, and data analysis to educate clinicians, coders, and departments and drive coding quality improvements. This is a highly visible role that involves presenting findings and collaborating across departments to

Qualifications

• Must have completed a coding education program or must be a graduate from an associate or bachelor’s degree program in health information.
• RHIT, RHIA, or coding certificate (CCA/COC/CCS/CPC/CCS-P) required.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 CM, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; ability to create Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables for reporting and data analysis.
• Ability to work independently, apply time management and critical thinking skills, and have strong decision-making skills.
• Must be a highly skilled and experienced coder who can independently research, analyze and understand large amounts of data, identify issues that have financial impact and provide opportunities to improve coding quality.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one and/or group settings professionally.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate documentation and billing in the medical record.
• Identify revenue opportunities and close documentation gaps.
• Provide system-wide coding education and support to clinicians and departments.
• Present information and communicate findings professionally.
• Partner with coding teams and clinic departments to improve coding quality.
• Attend meetings and develop educational materials for onboarding.
