Seminole Classic Casino in Florida seeks an accounting professional to oversee gaming and non-gaming accounting under the Vice President of Finance. You will manage cash operations, accounts payable, payroll and the general ledger.

Responsibilities include reconciling GL accounts and sub-ledgers, preparing monthly journal entries, and supporting month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings while maintaining strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business with accounting emphasis.
• Minimum of 2 years accounting experience (4–6 years without degree).
• Excellent Excel skills and numeric data handling.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsabilités

• Reconcile complex general ledger accounts monthly and resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile sub-ledgers to GL as required.
• Maintain and enhance financial reporting systems and processes.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Participate in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings.
• Ensure internal controls and assist on accounting projects as needed.
• Provide information for auditors and special projects.

Job Description: Seminole Classic Casino pioneered Indian gaming when it opened as the country’s first large stakes bingo hall in 1979, eventually expanding with gaming machines and poker. The landmark casino is now home to over 1,000 state-of-the-art, newest-title slot machines and other local favorites such as Diamond Lottos, Fort Knox, Pirate’s Loot. The gaming leader also offers 24/7 live table game action with games including Blackjack, Baccarat, Spanish 21, Three Card Poker and many more. Seminole Classic Casino also features the Hollywood Hall entertainment pavilion and the Stage Bar, a full-service bar that features live entertainment nightly. Under the direction of the Vice President of Finance, the incumbent, either personally or through subordinates, directs the activities of gaming and non gaming accounting, revenue controls, cash operations, accounts payable, payroll, general accounting, collections, food and beverage accounting, accounts receivable, receiving and general cashiering. May include but are not limited to:

• Reconcile complex general ledger accounts monthly including research and resolution of discrepancies.
• Reconcile sub-ledgers to GL as required.
• Maintain and enhance financial systems and reporting mechanisms.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Participate in month end, quarter end and year end closings.
• Comply with Internal controls and best practices, and assist in other accounting projects as requested.
• Provide information for auditors and other special projects.

A Bachelors degree in accounting or a Bachelors degree in business with emphasis in accounting preferred. Degree(s) must be from a credible college or university. A minimum of 2 years experience in accounting is required (4-6 without degree). Must be a perfectionist by nature, with no tolerance for financial sloppiness. Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures. Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data. Must be highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets. Must be skilled in use of MS Word and must be a very good writer in order to handle the occasional administrative needs of the department. Must have very good verbal skills.
